Women and girls in science

Grad students Kate Augustine and Heidi MacLean presented at FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science) on November 16. The goal of FEMMES is to introduce 4th-6th grade girls in Chapel Hill and Carrboro to math, science, and engineering. Heidi and Kate brought the Manduca sexta caterpillars out of the lab to share with the girls as they tested thermal sensitivity of caterpillar feeding.
